An electron travelling at 1.6 ×107 m/s enters the middle of the plates and experiences a force as a result of an electric field where one plate is earthed and the other at a potential of 2.5 kV. Calculate the horizontal displacement of the electron before it hits the plate: (qe = -1.602 × 10−19 C and me = 9.109 × 10−31 kg)
